Automation Impacts on the Built Environment

The MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab and EY are taking part in an educational webinar series on the topic of Automation. The first of four webinars featured MIT REIL Director Dr. Andrea Chegut, EY Global Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction Leader Mark Grinis, and Unissu founder James Dearsley. In this educational exchange the discussion focused specifically on the role of automation in the built environment, defining automation in relation to commercial real estate and detailing how it impacts the way we work and live. The conversation also touched upon Proptech and why automation affects the built environment differently than other industries.
Infrastructure is on the decline and there are not enough people to help inspect and identify problems for repair and resolution--robots will help.
